Win Zip 17 Adds Cloud Storage, Social Sharing

VERSION 17 of Win Zip, available in Pro ($50) and Standard ($30) editions, remains very much in tune with how people share files in today’s world.

As in the previous version, the user interface divides Ribbon tabs according to functionality, with clear labels such as Unzip.

Dropbox, Google Drive, and SkyDrive are deeply integrated into Win Zip 17, and their familiar icons show up in several Ribbon tabs for different operations. Win Zip can now seamlessly convert documents into PDFs so recipients can't change their contents as easily; it can also shrink image dimensions, so you can reduce a folder of huge cam­era photos to 800 by 600 images for sharing. The new ZipShare feature lets you send social-media status updates from within Win Zip, linking to a zipped file hosted on the ZipShare server.
