By applying a simplest trick, you can resolve the error " Invalid variable declaration in page skin: Variable is used but not defined. Input: "

After making some changes to your HTML or CSS file of your blogger template, You receive an error after saving them. If you find no help after searching lot about the error, then its better to follow this steps to try your luck.

All you should be doing is choosing Bloggers any default template. Can be done by going to Template section of your blog and from Simple, Awesome Inc, Ethereal, Travel etc. you can select any one of theme and apply it to your blog. Now, upload your template back (template which were using earlier). This should be helpful. As it was for me and got rid of the error by applying the above method.
